Opening day of the new season is always an exciting prospect for all teams, for KSH it had the added incentive of competing in the Superleague for the first time after a remarkable rise through the junior ranks in four short seasons.

A positive start from the visitors with Muir and Band looking particularly dangerous in their advanced roles. Muir saw one driving run at the heart of "the Mariners" defence crudely brought to a halt as he was fouled by the home side`s central defender. The resultant free kick from C.Gay narrowly missed the target.

Band then saw a left foot effort plucked away with a fine save from the home `keeper. It was a steady start for the Fife side and from another set piece Johnstone saw a goal bound effort blocked by a strong defensive header.

The positive start was soon turned on it`s head when a poor touch in midfield gifted possession to the Camelon midfield, with several players out of position a clever through ball to Crawford saw the striker collect the ball and advance unchallenged before hitting a low shot from twenty yards into the net. A goal against the run of play but it was one that lifted the home side.

On the half hour another slack clearance from the Kennoway defence was punished in breakneck speed. The ball was swept from left to right before a low cross was knocked past Page by Sneddon.

Camelon were now in control and the cold hard facts for the away side were mistakes will be punished at this level . HT 2-0

To try and get a foothold back in to the game the second half would have to see more efforts on goal. Despite getting into good attacking areas the lack of shots was something the away management would have been disappointed with in the first half.

Again a promising start to the half saw good possession but no real threat on the home goal. The few times it looked like a chance was coming the Camelon defence tackled with aggression and showed great organisation as they defended their lead.

It was game over in the on the hour when Docherty saw his effort take a deflection and hit the back of the net.

A C.Gay shot from distance brought out another save from the home shot stopper as KSH looked for a consolation goal with fifteen minutes remaining.

Several substitutions from both sides saw the game meander along before the final goal of the game with five minutes remaining again Docherty on hand to casually knock the ball home after a cross from the right had evaded several players.

Despite the early promise from KSH the home side ran out comfortable winners in the end. FT 4-0
